People to People Student Leadership Conference

I am going to DC this week for my master's graduation. The entire family including Mom, Papa, Katie, Leanna, David, me, and Cyndi are coming. Everyone has not been together in a long time. We scored tickets for the White House tour on Thursday. Commencement is on Saturday. We are also trying to go to the National Gallery of Art and Holocaust Memorial Museum. I haven't been there since my People to People trip in 8th grade. Looking back, we went so many cool places like Eisenhower Farm, Gettysburg, Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg. I just did not appreciate it. We didn't do many leadership activities or actual lessons on US history and government like in JNSLC. The actual People to People company actually shut down a while ago. We just did field trips. I like working as a team advisor for the National Student Leadership Conference as an adult. It provides a good balance among leadership, US government instruction, and field trips. It was a good trip for 8th grade though. I cannot wait to keep going back so I can see everything in DC!
