Interesting Week

It was an interesting week this week. I subbed on Wednesday and the kids were so bad I am seriously considering applying for new jobs. There are also some new things on the dating front I won't discuss at this time, but at least my confidence is getting better. I will update!

The End of an Awful Week

This past week was just plain awful! I won't go into all the details but it was just bad. Bad kids at school, fight with Mom, illness, Praxis tests, and stress. Plus there was Grandpa Cressall's funeral. I ended up giving the opening prayer.

Snow Day and Grandpa Cressall

On Wednesday I had the first snow day in my entire school life! From K-12 and all my years at SLCC and Utah State, I have only ever had one 2 hour delay in middle school. The snow was pretty bad and I actually was going to sub the second half of the school day. It was nice to have a relaxing day at home. Unfortunately, my Grandpa Cressall also passed away that day after being sick for years. His funeral is tomorrow. I will be working on Friday instead of Monday this week so I can attend. I am officially grandparent-less. All four have now passed on. I am lucky to have made it to age 25 with grandparents. I am also retaking the Praxis Elementary math section on Saturday. I will update!

Thesis and Work Update

I just submitted the draft for my introduction chapter for my master's thesis! Baby steps, baby steps. I will write the literature review chapter and start on the chapter about Termination this week. I think I will post my entire thesis when it is done. I am also booking the trip to the commencement ceremony in National Harbor, Maryland with my family this week. I have not officially been cleared for graduation yet but my thesis class does not officially end until April 28th although I am trying to turn in my final master's thesis by April 12th. As for work, I have Big 8 classroom management training on Wednesday. The TAs are finally getting it after I was promised we would receive it at the end of the last school year. At least we are getting it now. I am currently looking to teach secondary social studies at American Heritage (an LDS private school) or stay on at Summit Academy as a full-time elementary school teacher next year. I do have to retake the sections on the Elementary Praxis though before applying for that. I am retaking the math section on Feb 16th and the science section on Feb 22nd. Happy Sunday!
