First Week of School

It was the first week of school. I will mostly be helping and teaching lessons in the U.S. History, Current Events, and U.S. Foundations classes. There are grades 9-12 in those classes. I love high school so far. They are very self-sufficient. I am still getting used to learning more about autism so I can best help my students. I am still a little overwhelmed and I really missed Summit. I haven't connected with the teachers as much. I will update! I am confident I will assimilate soon.

First Week at Spectrum

The first week at Spectrum were the typical teacher trainings and meetings. I am with the two social studies teachers and I even get to teach a lot of the time. It's all the high school required social studies classes. I am way excited though nervous because school starts on Tuesday. I will update how the first week of school goes!

High School Days

I got the history and learning skills education job at the Spectrum High School! I am so excited to be teaching high school. Elementary at APA was not my first choice! I do my HR paperwork tomorrow and start on Wednesday. It feels like high school was just yesterday. I was really motivated academically and socially my sophomore year and then that really tapered off by the end of senior year lol. I had a really bad case of senioritis. I still graduated with an associate's degree though and the AP and IB honors. I was back to my usual overachiever self by freshman year of USU that fall. I will update how it goes!

Teacher's Institute

I made it home from DC safely last Sunday night. This past week has been Teacher's Institute at APA. I took several education classes. I learned a lot though I am not convinced with their attitudes and methods 100%. I am interviewing at middle and high schools where I can actually teach social studies hopefully. I will update!
