Crunch Week
The last week off before D.C. and starting my new teaching job was hectic! I had my new hire orientation at APA on Thursday and did all of their online onboarding paperwork. I packed for D.C. last night. I leave tomorrow and my flight is at 5:20 AM! I am disappointed they decided not to have a head team advisor this summer but I will still make the most of it. I got to be the lead TA at Summit this past year. I will probably do the high school political science program next summer if I can't be head team advisor for JNSLC. I also had an awesome date with an older guy on Friday night. He's 33 and very active in the church. I hope that he is still around when I get back. The only downside to this week is that my mom has been in a bad mood for most of it, but what else is new. I will update Wednesday!

A Week of Tragedy
This is week has been full of challenges. On Tuesday, my mom and I discovered that our basement had flooded from a backed up sewage pipe. Pretty much our entire basement is considered a hazard and the far side has to be torn up. Then yesterday, Aunt Shauna was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. My heart aches for her and my uncle and cousins. I wish I lived closer to California to help. I am going to pray for them this week and go to the temple and fast for them. I am going to make a trip to CA to help in the fall when she is undergoing treatment. I love them so much.

What Matters Most
I broke things off with the guy I was dating. It was so sudden and unexpected. I have the tendency to act rashly in dating which I am trying to work on. We had so much chemistry and I liked him a lot. We had so much in common. But he was not LDS and did not want to get married anytime soon. It still hurts but I know it was the right choice. I am closer in the right direction of finding an LDS guy to marry in the temple.

First Date
I went out on a first date with a dental student on Friday. We're going out again today. He's been very reliable so far and different from the rest. He is also a twin! I will update.

First Kiss
My first kiss was the night before my 19th birthday. It was my first year at Utah State and I had only been in college for about a month. The boy was named Max and he was 22 and the Elder's Quorum president. I had a crush on him because he was older and nerdy. I spent the evening hanging out with my roommates at Logan First Dam by the Bear River. My roommate, Jessica, then texted him and asked him if he wanted to make me a "True Aggie" that night. To my surprise, he said yes. I was so nervous because I had never kissed a boy before. I had only talked to him a couple times too. He came over and we walked to the A step at midnight with a horde of other couples because it was Homecoming Weekend. We kissed at midnight and he was very sweet. It was the best birthday of my life. He later asked me out and pursued me but I turned him down. I was actually quite immature toward him. But alas being 19.
